Prior experience and Aspirations
To whoever is reading this, once again, thank you for reading my blog. My name is Trinity Manugas and I'm extremely excited for this upcoming semester, as I'm finally going to dwell into animation (using Toon Boom). In my other courses, I'm going to dwell into digital modeling (in Maya) and storyboarding, however this blog will mostly cover my progress with animation (I'm sure I'll include some of my other projects if I'm proud of them though).
When it comes to animation, I'm a complete beginner. The only sort of experience I have with animation would be animating vector images, very basic puppet animation in after effects, as well as basic motion graphic animations using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects (thanks to Professor Corrigan for teaching me these skills in a prior Beginning Animation course I took last year).
In my 2D animation course, I'm mostly excited about character animation. As someone who loves creating her own stories and loves her original characters, I'm ecstatic that I'll finally be able to bring them to life. My main goal is to be able to animate characters smoothly, to be able to animate facial expressions well, to be able to portray my characters in the way I can envision them in my head, and that I can successfully evoke certain emotions from the people who watch my animations. Since I tend to give my characters personal lessons and experiences that I've dealt with in my life, I'm hoping that through my animation, I can inspire people and that I can create engaging, relatable projects.
